Oopsie, it seems that I may have forgotten to reveal what I posted about a while ago...
YTF1's been competing in the GPVWC Formula Challenge - I couldn't let the name die now, could I? We've gone outside of Team Shadica in our sourcing of drivers, but the results are outstanding for our first part-season in the league - a best result of 5th (that was from 17th on the grid!) in a hugely competitive field of 40+ drivers bodes well for the future.
The Formula Challenge season is about to finish, but I'm not about to let the name of the team take all of the limelight from me! I'm going to be participating in the last round of the season on Tuesday (driving for another team). Rain is predicted for Interlagos, so it could be interesting. At least the YTF1 drivers are confident!
Where do we go after the end of that season? Into the International Touring Cup - the GPVWC's spiritual successor to the GRC (now sadly closed) Touring Car Championship that made me famous with the Milka car! Again, we've outsourced for our driver lineup, but it's a mighty talented one at that :) No Milka this time, though - shame that the company couldn't cooperate :(
And there's more - Josh happens to have stumbled into the XTreme RPM league and it's World Endurance Series. I'm planning to join him and his team, Cosmo Autosport, as we take on a very different type of sim-racing...
EDIT: The Formula Challenge is now complete, as mentioned in the comments.
Josh and I have also joined the Historic Sim-Racing organisation. We plan to drive the Ligiers in the last 2 rounds of their F1 1991 championship :)
In other news, just won my first public BATracer championship in something like a year :D
Wish us luck! :)
Having received the terrible news from Le Mans, I'm understandably not in the best mood right now :(
Despite hurting myself hiking (again!), I'm going to make my debut in the GPVWC World Sport Series on Wednesday (19:40 GMT+1), with an appropriately updated livery. I might be racing in pain, but it's nothing like what Simonsen's family and friends are going through right now. My condolences go out to them at this difficult time.
Well, what a whirlwind few weeks this has been! The exams are (almost) finally over! :D This, of course, means that I get to do the things that I want to do!
This, of course, includes more parodies, which is a good thing, as my head has quickly restocked itself with ideas during the exam season! One involves a brilliant idea with a game from my childhood, stay tuned for that. That I'm certainly not giving up on, but my motivation to do YTF1 is down again :(
I'm also bracing myself for a possible sim-racing triple assault over the summer! I'm joining the GPVWC World Sport Series (basically a Porsche Supercup), starting on June 26th. There is also the possibility of a drive in the GPVWC Supercup (GP2-style), having been in contact with a team about that. Also, I'm returning to the GRC Touring Car Championship for another season! The infamous Milka car has, regretfully, been ditched in favor of a drive with another team. This was agreed long before Josh joined to race under the Team Shadica banner in the same series!
EDIT: The GPVWC Supercup team have unfortunately turned down my services :(
(All events will be broadcast LIVE on simrace.tv - the GRC events should be on Mondays at 20:00 British time (based on last season) and the GPVWC events will be on Wednesdays at 20:40 GMT+1. I may also be live-streaming them like I have done in the past. Also, I've set up a new YT channel specifically for my sim-racing activities.)
But wait... there's more! Since I started my retirement-that-turned-out-not-to-be-a-retirement I've been regularly entering livery competitions over at robsworkshop. Ryan became slightly smug a couple of weeks ago having received the news that one of my liveries had won. Putting Dyson as the main sponsor was his suggestion...
So... yeah, that's about it for now. Cya :)

Oh, and remember to backup your F1 2012 game :P
